Ag Course Outline

 

Our Ag Aviation Program consists of 40 hours of flight time.

All ground and flight training is done by an FAA Certificated Flight Instructor who is also an experienced Ag Pilot.

Below is a partial listing of knowledge and skills covered:

  • Commercial Proficiency in a tailwheel airplane
  • Weather concerns and hazards
  • Loading and mixing chemicals
  • Calculating efficient loads
  • Calibrating the airplane
  • Spray systems
  • Basic and Advanced Tailwheel techniques
  • Navigation with and without GPS
  • Field location and positive identification
  • Identifying hazards in the field
  • Identifying hazards to people or animals
  • Protecting the environment
  • Proper field entry, exit, and trim procedures
  • Using the light bar for swath guidance
  • Choosing the best spray pattern
  • Linking fields together
  • Emergency procedures

We try to make your stay at Ag Aviation School as pleasant as  possible while flight training.  Whether you need to take a break and hang out with other pilots, or just need a quiet place to study, you can find it here.  Below is a short list of what you can expect at Ag Aviation School, Kingsley Field in Miller, MO. (MO9 on the charts).

Our Equipment

 

We have five Pawnee spray planes to work with that are meticulously maintained at our full time, on-site aircraft maintenance facility.

The maintenance staff completes engine overhauls, airframe repairs, sheet metal fabrication, welding, covering and painting. They have completely rebuilt many Pawnees from the ground up.

The airplanes used for training are real working planes that are flown regularly in the Kingsley's ag operation, Plane Cents Aviation, so you know they are safe and dependable
